A New Home

When I first started blogging back in November, I picked Blogger seeing it was the most user-friendly for people like me. As easy as it is/was, it is not without minor and major hiccups that I am no longer willing to put up with. Major hiccups hurts the chest and my teeth would rot soon with the lumps of sugar I have been taking.

Thank you Lorenzo, Craig, Nando, River, Becca and Josh for helping & listening and the concerned e-mails of "where is your blog?!"

Here a flower for your time.

The new home is - http://aredcardigan.wordpress.com/

Hope to see you there.

Thank you.

Anne of Green Gables

Another O' Gosh great shot by Josh.

One of my favorite made for television movie series is Anne of Green Gables. I would watch it again and again during my teenage years. There was something about feisty Anne Shirley, the relationship she had with Marilla Cuthbert and the grand beauty of the natural setting - with the rolling hills and crystal clear lakes.

Then of course, the eye candy for most teenage girls, myself included - the quiet and reserved Gilbert Blythe. Even saying his name now, I blush a little. My friends and I had massive crushes. We would wonder if Anne and Gilbert would ever end up together when we first watched it. I found him terribly cute with his curly brown hair and his unassuming smile. My favorite scene of the both of them was when Anne nearly drowned and she was reluctant to be rescued by Gilbert.

It seems that the current trend, observing some of my friends' blogs, the IT guy now is Edward Cullen of the Twilight book series turned big screen feature. Characteristically there are similarities between Gilbert and Edward, seeing they are portrayed as the strong, silent type. I guess in the young adult literary world, male characters tend to be one dimensional. They are either overly-confident, showy or quiet but internally intense.

I have not watched Anne of Green Gables in years because my tapes do not work anymore. I am not sure if there are dvds of the series but even if they are available it is probably too expensive to purchase.

Here is an outfit inspired by her. More so during the older years when she is a teacher because I do not think I can get away dressed like a school going girl anymore.

Anne of Avonlea

The same skirt is featured again because I only have one of this kind. My philosophy when it comes to clothes - one good piece that you mix and match with different tops. I actually found this skirt on the sales rack (like most of my clothes) and it was my size. I really do like the flow of this skirt and I am lucky that it matches well with most of the items I already own.

Anne Shirley

And for those who do know the series, my sleeves aren't puffed enough.
